The IBIS Institute for Change was chartered to develop ideal solutions that solve the major problems facing the world today. We are a premiere Social Venture think tank. We believe that an enterprising fourth sector is a vital source of economic growth, a key support for our most vulnerable communities, and a critical part of the reform of public services globally. The Fourth Sector is the convergence of commercial and public sector business models to address social sector challenges and opportunities.
The IBIS Institute for Change is focused on the development of the fourth sector in its many forms:
At the IBIS Institute for Change we provide Advice, Articulation, and Advocacy sservices that transform the way that business is conducted and the way in which public services are delivered.
ADVICE
IBIS Institute for Change has partnered with the Institute for Innovation to provide advisory services in the areas of Strategic Foresight and Planning, Social Innovation, and Social Venture Development. Our services include social entrepreneurship and enterprise development, social impact assessment, Social Return on Investment (SROI), and project and program evaluation. Our team has expertise in:
We have developed a new approach to the Fourth Sector using an emerging hybrid business model called the low-profit limited liability company (L3C). The L3C organization has enabled new funding sources and approaches to community capacity building, the community control and management of assets, and the role of fourth sector in public sector reform.
We also have developed expertise in Social Enterprise Strategy, Social Sector Evaluation, and Social Impact Assessment, for Community Wealth Building in a variety of sectors including education, clean energy, aquaculture and energy efficient housing development.
We are backed up by our partner, the Institute for Innovation( www.TheI4I.com ). I4I brings tools and software that facilitate the design and delivery of cutting edge advisory services for strategic foresight studies, economic development plans, and virtual think tanks that enable community engagement and capacity building; social enterprise support; employment services; and alternate financing sources through private foundations.
Social Sector Evaluation
IBIS uses evaluation as a tool to facilitate learning and change. We use techniques that are highly participative and inclusive, and are committed to demystifying evaluation rather than making clients dependent on us.
Social Impact Assessment Organizations must continually prove and improve their impact and value to their clients and funders. Making a strong and compelling case, however, can be a messy, complicated, and time-consuming business for even the largest of organizations.
ARTICULATION
IBIS Institute for Change is dedicated to developing the human and intellectual capital necessary to improve the quality of life and economic prosperity of the disadvantaged and under-resourced global community. We tracks trends, anticipates disruptions and forecasts opportunities and challenges in the economic and social sectors.
Social Research Services Well-informed decisions can only be achieved by considering the best available evidence. We are committed to helping clients to make the right choices, and provide the clear thinking and insight that comes from effective research. IBIS helps to gather evidence and build the case for change.
IBIS has the core competence to conduct social research based on a full range of qualitative, quantitative and ‘mixed methods’ research designs. We are able to present evidence in creative ways and we use a Plain English reporting style.
Social Innovation There is a rapidly growing interest in social innovation and social entrepreneurship; ways in which people are creating new and more effective answers to the big challenges in society. This must be encouraged, supported and nurtured. IBIS helps to take ideas from inception to impact.
Global Community IBIS helps to build bridges between the United States of America and the developing Third World economies on the solid foundation of stronger political, economic, cultural, educational, and technological ties. A new awareness combined with the pursuit of knowledge, imagination and intelligence will stimulate fresh thinking and create bold new ideas that generate partnership, commerce, trade and investment opportunities. Education is the centerpiece of our strategy as it lifts people out of poverty and ultimately improves the quality of life for both current and future generations.
Opening the doors of opportunity will narrow the gap between culture and democratic principles, promote peace, progress and prosperity across the continent. With a collective and collaborative effort, the possibilities are unlimited. IBIS acts as a conduit between private concerns, foundations and NGO’s, Heads of States and governmental agencies to ensure success. We are poised to link private U.S. multi-national corporations and their technology with the global capital markets and the under-utilized human capital and raw materials of the Third World in a true partnership where everyone benefits. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child and flourishing communities to build nation. Therefore to facilitate strong ties we facilitate the following programs:
Educational Services
Business Services
Community Services
