Whitney J. Daniel succeeds McCray as Executive Director of the IBIS Foundation Inc.

April 1, 2011 West Palm Beach, Florida – Whitney J. Daniel has been tapped to succeed Tony R. McCray, Jr. as the Executive Director of the IBIS Foundation Inc.  Mr. Daniel has spent the last fourteen years in the Non-Profit Sector as an innovative Community Builder and Re-Developer who specializes in finding ways to transcend racial, cultural and socio-economic barriers while raising capital for both civic and private entities.  Mr. Daniel has a knack for predicting and discovering unforeseen trends in corporate value.  “We are happy to add someone of Mr. Daniel’s caliber to our growing team said Rachid Elbekraoui, Chairman of the Board.  We look forward to his leadership to help take the Foundation to the next level.”

IBIS Partners LLC hired by ZGlove

February 1, 2011 Beverly Hills, California - IBIS Partners LLC has been retained to raise capital for ZGlove (www.thezglove.com), the privately held designer and manufacturer of high performance arm and leg compression sleeves.  “While there are many arm and leg sleeves on the market, none have the functions, design and comfort to wear as The ZGlove Sleeves,” stated Gregory S. Daniel, Managing Partner of IBIS Partners LLC.

The ZGlove Sleeves are designed with the patent pending Z-Band which extends from the wrist and can be worn on any finger increasing coverage to the sensitive portion of the back of hand where tendons are covered with relatively thin muscle and skin protection. The light yet durable Micropoly and Lycra blend fabric has a four-way stretch for a comfortable second skin fit.  A mild graduating compression removes lactic acids and warms muscles faster, decreases cramping, prevents DVT’s ( Deep Vein Thrombosis) and controls swelling.

The ZGlove Sleeves double layered design is reversible and comes in several sizes, styles and more than 20 colors.  An antibacterial to keep garment smelling fresh, Quick Dry and Wicking moisture, as well as functions of SPF 50+ have been built into the fabric and will never wash out.  This is especially important, as over exposure to the deadly UV rays of the sun can lead to the most deadly form of skin cancer melanoma.  According to the American Cancer Society, skin cancer accounts for more than 50% of all cancers and more than one million cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed this year killing more than 8,000 in the US alone.

The company’s Founder and President, Kenneth Hollis has been co-designing the ZGlove Arm and Leg sleeves for over 10 years.  According to Mr. Hollis, “ZGlove sleeves where created as a preventive medicine protective garment that increases ones performance.  We have a remarkable new product that combines protection, increased performance and a cutting edge style for the athletic apparel industry.  Injuries are a part of life we can’t avoid totally.  The only small injury is the one that’s not yours.  Protect yourself at all times as simple cuts or tears to the skin can lead to STAPH infections that can turn deadly within days.”

McCray Named EBO Program Manager of Maritime Park

August 31, 2010 Pensacola, Florida - Tony R. McCray, Jr., Governmental Affairs Director for IBIS Partners LLC, was appointed as Program Manager of the Pensacola, Florida Community Maritime Park Equal Business Opportunity (EBO) Program.  The Community Maritime Park is $52,000,000 Hurricane Ivan disaster recovery project on the bay of this northwest Florida city.  The Escambia-Pensacola Human Relations Commission (EPHRC), which is led by its Executive Director, Dr. Calvin Avant, competed for the minority business assistance contract and was named the new managers by Scott Davison, Vice President of Development for the Maritime Park Development Partners (MPDP).

When the project was approved to receive $40,000,000 of Tax Increment Finance (TIF) support through the City of Pensacola Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), Avant and McCray were directly involved in persuading the voters to approve the investment.  The project was held up as a significant building block for Pensacola’s Downtown and Westside neighborhoods to attract public and private sector reinvestment that would create jobs and business opportunities for the city’s Black population.  Buoyed by promises and commitments for a “Covenant with the Community”, the African-American voting precincts led the charge for the approval of the investment.

The EPHRC is collaborating with the IBIS Community Development Corporation to convene the 2011 Gulf Coast Regional Equity to Achieve Prosperity (REAP) Summit at the Pensacola Beach Hilton on March 17th – 19th.  The goal of the conference is to facilitate the adoption of a Gulf Coast Blueprint for recovery and development on behalf of communities impacted by the BP Oil Spill, 2004-2005 hurricanes, and the generational poverty.

Gregory S. Daniel, Managing Partner of IBIS Partners LLC stated, “The Maritime Park Project is an excellent example of public and private investment linked to a process of making development projects accountable to the tax-payers that approved the financing.”  McCray added, “Maritime Park has the potential of becoming a $250 million catalyst for a Pensacola renaissance in downtown and inner-city neighborhoods serving as a model of Gulf Coast resilience!”  The agreement managed by McCray and the EPHRC team commits its developer, MPDP, to Black, Hispanic, Asian participation in contracts and jobs commensurate with their respective percentages in the City of Pensacola population.
